So, if God’s creation, and all that the physical realm encompasses is God’s own masterpiece, what is the masterpiece communicating? What do I mean? Think—if the physical (material) world is God’s own work of art, and art is simply an illustration of something else (usually art is an imaginary fabrication that portrays reality) then what is God “masterpiece” illustrating?
This man-made artistic fabrication reflects what man sees the living do, which is actually the nature of the spirit coming out in the physical
The Scriptures tell us that “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” Meaning, it’s what you’re spirit thinks that defines what you are—not your physical body. Your material form is can only reflect what you’re thinking. You may demonstrate what you are on the “inside” on your “outside” with perfect detail; explaining your every want and desire through speech, or the written word, physical expression, or sign language, etc. When you do this, the material world is now showing what you are like on the inside. You have now revealed something about yourself in the physical realm (God Masterpiece). The Masterpiece (physical) can reflect any emotion, idea, motivation, or resolve the “inner man” wills.
Thus, material reality is a reflection/illustration of the spiritual reality. Both are real, but the spiritual is the 100% true reality. Here’s why: man and beast—any living thing, basically—can hide the truth physically. You don’t have to tell me what you’re thinking, so the physical does not illustrate all factual reality. It only demonstrates the parts that one way or the other come out of the spiritual into the physical.
Unlike the physical, the spiritual cannot be a farce. It is at the pinnacle of truth. All roads end up where everything begins: the spiritual realm. This is the purest essence of what counts—what God looks at the most. I don’t believe the spiritual is all that matters, but essentially, it it the core of what matters. Nothing material matters without the spiritual value we place on the material.
Thus, the physical world is all a reflection of what is true and the most important about reality. This is why art that best reflects human emotions, or spiritual conditions, are usually held as the most attractive to people. They “connect” with the art on a spiritual level. God’s masterpiece is reflecting the values of the spiritual conditions of everything that lives. So this isn’t just true of the human condition—animals and plants reflect this too. Although, maybe to lesser extents.
There’s more I could say, but when I came to this point of understanding I had to chew on it for awhile, so I’ll let you think about it. This is something I’ve been studying heavily for more than a year, and while I may not have written down the clearest way of explaining it, I hope you got my message.
