We’re Alien Guinea Pigs or Created in the Image of God

Nicholas Cage in "Knowing"

The new movie Knowing has some serious worldview implications. If the film was the only one like it, it may not be worth mentioning. However, the concepts in Knowing are common throughout science fiction tales of aliens. According to pro-evolutionary, agenda pushing filmmakers, aliens are a plausible explanation for the existence and meaning of life on earth.

What’s sad about those that believe aliens created us and guide us is they substitute the real significance of the human race with that of lab rats. Since God created us and gave us a purpose, we have importance and relevance in the universe—and the universe was created for us and God’s pleasure. If aliens created us, we’re just guinea pigs and slaves to our other-worldy makers that have less than our best interests at heart, and we truly loose all meaning to life and the world at large.

Why care for earth itself? If aliens made us and our habitat, isn’t the world the aliens’ problem? If the aliens want us to take care of earth, why should we obey them? We’re just rabbits in a cage(earth); we shouldn’t have to clean up after ourselves. Rabbits don’t. This is just another hole in the evolutionary theory. Yet, it has huge ramifications on popular “save the earth” activism. Storytellers that push “aliens are real” nullify their own convictions.

So which would you rather have? Which belief system makes more sense? It seems some filmmakers rather be slaves to an extraterrestrial than friends of God (their actual Maker).

My Additional Blog On Kontain

I’m not big on stretching myself too thin via the social streams of the world-wide web. I honestly don’t enjoy facebook that much—although I am a fan of Twitter—and besides brief activity on digg and my blog everyday I don’t have time for much else. I get to the other social services probably once a week.

And I prefer to keep this blog geared to my thoughts on the world around me. This blog really isn’t about me all that much, as I’m sure you’ve noticed. Well, the reason is I don’t think I have enough to comment on in my everyday life that would interest you, honestly. But eery now and then there is stuff I’d like to share on a blog that I still don’t feel comfortable mentioning on this blog because they don’t relate to the intended purposes of this blog.

Thus, I went hunting for another blog service that I could use to blog about the mundane and odd that doesn’t relate to worldview and Christianity is any way. I’ve been looking for the right service a long time. I checked into another wordpress blog, blogger, typepad, tumblr… heck I even considered using notes directly on facebook. All these methods would have worked moderately well, I think. Still, I wanted something more effective. Something I could build a following on I felt comfortable with.

So I found kontain this past week, and I’m loving it. So far, I’ve posted 4 times and got an excellent response from the community on kontain. It’s a good site, and good network. So, Now and then I might share a link to my kontain “personal” blog. Personal in a more personal nature than this site, as I would put it. You can find the “k” button direct link to my kontain blog under “Network With Me” in the right side column of my blog here to quickly access my blog on kontain.

Never fear; I will still be here on a regular basis. See ya around!

What’s Going On Elsewhere?

I know that people read blogs to see what’s going on in the world, among other reasons. If you’re interested in what’s relevant to the masses, you check out sites like digg.com, stumbleupon.com, mixx.com, newsvine.com, delicious.com, and others to see what matters to society on the web. Personally, I like to track what interests others to be encouraged when I see them interested in something worthwhile, and to know how to pray for my fellow man when I see them express interest in something abase and ungodly. Infinite Complexity to Social Networking (Facebook Changes)

Facebook gave all their users a good heads up on the news they would update their networking site, but people really didn’t know what to expect till the changes became reality. For better or worse, the changes were basically permanent and immediate. All users now share the same look, functionality, and usage. Now, the truth is, Facebook did this for our own good. Based on very good research, surveys, testing, and programming, Facebook has once again given us a giant leap for all socializing kind. But do we appreciate it? Continue reading

What’s the Best Pixar Film to Date?

A friend of mine is running the following poll, and I thought the results were interesting.

I voted for Toy Story 2. I’ve watched all the films dozens of times (both in my youth as a Pixar film fanatic and an adult studying the art form). I can see why others are so enthused about “The Incredibles” though.

You can vote in poll yourself if you’d like. The poll is on the homepage (the link I gave you on the left)  in the right side column.

Everyone Should Have a Plan B Job

In the economic downturn we’re in, or anytime for that matter, we can never be too sure about our job security. Ideally, employers would always have loyal employees, and employees would have loyal employers. This is not often the case, and the impact on household or business can be devastating. Thus it is a prudent move to always have an escape plan. An alternative to the way you know and live your life. A means of supporting your business or personal employment if all doesn’t go as planned. This is, of course, often referred to as a “Plan B.” Continue reading

Mint.com

I love what Mint.com does for consumer households. The website offers many budget services, relevant financial planning advice, and much more. I’m not trying to sell anything for them—I’m unaffiliated. I just like them. And I’m not the only one. Many sites are giving them free adverising (such as I am here) simply because they like Mint so much.

There’s nothing else like it. You really ought to consider it no matter how detailed you are with finances. They can help you be better.
